Camp Odakoda was created in 2010 to support children with Autism Spectrum Disorders.

Our Mission

…is to facilitate the same kind of summer-camp that most children enjoy – with the added support, encouragement and expertise that we’ve specifically designed for children with these special needs.

We offer a 4 night sleep away experience for boys and girls aged 10-18 years who have Autism.  Our program is centered around promoting social skill development in a fun and exciting way.  We have a 2 campers to 1 adult counselor ratio.

Our camp offers our campers:

Camp History

ASD Oregon came to life in 2010 with the first camp program (Camp Quest).

A Note From Us: We are very excited to provide this opportunity for kids with ASD to attend an overnight camping experience. We believe that all kids should have access to the wonderful experiences of childhood, including summer camp. We know that these experiences can be stressful for children and their families. We will do our best to make sure all of our campers and their families have all the support they need to make this a unforgettable experience!

To assist you in planning for camp, please view the sample documents attached. Sample Food Menu, and Sample Schedule. These are not kept current so be sure to use the options emailed to you when preparing your camper for Camp.

Once applications are reviewed, you will be notified if your camper secures a spot and at that point you can log into the application sight and pay your tuition. We are not accepting tuition on the Paypal or Venmo sites. We do accept checks payable to ASD Oregon.

Board Member Bios

Robin McCoy, M.D. received her medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine. She completed a residency in primary care pediatrics at the University of Utah and then completed a fellowship in Developmental Pediatrics at Oregon Health & Science University. Her areas of specialty include autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, Tourette’s Disorder, developmental disorders, and learning and behavior problems. Robin enjoys medical evaluations as well as ongoing medical/medication management. Robin has worked in the child development field since 2000.

Justin Winn Has been a long time supporter of Camp Odakoda first as a camper and then as a counselor. He started attending the very first year in 2010!

Dr. Brian Rogers is the director of the Institute on Development and Disability (IDD)) at Oregon Health and Sciences University. He is also a practicing Developmental Pediatrician who works with children and families affected by many different disabilities.

Ian Moxley has over 20 years experience in healthcare finance and is the Director of Strategic Analytics at OptumHealth. He earned his finance degree at University of Oregon and has an MBA from Mississippi State University. Ian is the father of a teenager with high functioning autism.

Dr. Amy Costanza-Smith served as an Assistant Professor of Speech Language Pathology and the Training Director for the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities program at the Child Development and Rehabilitation Center at Oregon Health and Science University. Her research and clinical area of interest is childhood language disorders with a focus on assessment and family support.

Shelley Winn is a parent of 2 former campers who attended camp from 2010 until 2016. He has been a great supporter, fundraiser and advocate for Camp Odakoda over the years. In 2016 he joined the board of directors.

Executive Director

Misti Moxley received her bachelor’s degree from OSU, her masters in teaching from George Fox University and also has her school administrator’s license from PSU. She taught elementary school for 8 years before she became a curriculum specialist and independent consultant where she worked with many school districts to develop and implement curriculum and other district wide programs. Misti has worked as an adjunct professor at Concordia University and Portland State University in their education programs and has written several books and manuals that focus on a variety of teaching topics. She also is the founder and executive director of ASD Oregon. Her experience as a parent consultant in the OHSU autism diagnostic clinic has been an important part of the success of this program. She has worked as the Director of Student Support at Portland Christian Jr/Sr High school and has worked at OHSU supporting families and kids with disabilities. She currently works for North Clackamas School District as a coach for
